A LOOK INSIDE HEMP EXTRACT

Hemp extract is not the same as what you’d find in the grocery store.

You can buy hemp seeds and hemp seed oil in stores, but it is not the same as hemp oil extract. Oil extracted from the seeds of the hemp plant is extremely nutritious but does not contain phytocannabinoids, which are a part of a diverse class of chemical compounds. Hemp oil extract contains many phytocannabinoids including cannabidiol (CBD), which is being studied extensively for its beneficial properties. Hemp seed oil DOES NOT contain CBD.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring compound found in the resinous flower of cannabis, a plant with a rich history as medicine going back thousands of years.  Today the therapeutic properties of CBD are being tested and confirmed by scientists and doctors around the world.  A safe, non-addictive substance, CBD is one of more than a hundred "phytocannabinoids", which are unique to cannabis and endow the plant with its robust therapeutic profile.

The fact that CBD is therapeutically potent as well as non-intoxicating, and easy to take as a CBD oil, makes it an appealing treatment option for those who

are cautious about trying cannabis for the first time.

At SALT we provide high quality CBD oil products that are labeled correctly, branded by research and we understand that cannabis and CBD are best used as part of a Healthy Lifestyle.

Hemp Oil can be extracted in a number of ways, but not all are equal.  The highest standard of extraction is the CO2 method, where hemp is put under high pressure and low temperatures.  This process eliminates the need for using harsh chemicals.  While this is a complex method, it is the Cleanest and Safest method of extraction and ensures a pure CBD Product. Proper testing of hemp oil must be performed periodically in order to confirm potency and check for impurities.  These tests ensure that the amount of CBD on the label is what is in the product.  They also confirm that the legal level of THC (0.3%) is not exceeded.  Proper testing shows the company's transparency in their practice.

The results of these tests can be found in the form of a COA or a Certificate of Analysis.  A reputable source will test consistently and should have a recent COA available to anyone who asks.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where are your hemp plants grown?

Domestically grown in Colorado and Kentucky using ORGANIC Farming Methods

 Are your products certified organic?

The USDA is now open to certifying hemp as organic but like many things in the government, the process is slow and faltering.  Our raw material sources are all rigorously working on becoming certified now that the criteria are established.  That being said, all of the hemp raw materials that we work with are grown organically, they just aren't certified yet.

How is your manufacturing process audited and monitored?

Our laboratory is GMP and FDA compliant and is certified as a Michigan food processing facility.  We batch test all our products at multiple prestigious 3rd party labs to ensure the quality and efficacy of the products.

What extraction method do you use? Why?

We use CO2 extraction because this process creates a pure, clean, and quality oil that does not use toxic solvents.  It is the cleanest and safest method for extracting plants like hemp.

How much CBD should I take each day?

We suggest starting out with the recommended serving on the bottle each day.  CBD works differently in different bodies.  CBD is meant to build up in your body, so after the first week or two, we hope you will start to see the results you are looking for.  If not, that's ok!  The following week try doubling up your serving and go from there.

How does CBD oil work?

Our bodies make cannabinoids similar to CBD and THC.  Cannabinoids target receptors in our brain and body to simulate cells and encourage healing.  CBD is an ADAPTOGEN, meaning it will seek out what your body is in need of and help fix it.

Will CBD interact with my medication(s)?

We always recommend consulting your physician before starting a new food supplement if you are taking other medications.

Does CBD get you high?

Absolutely not, in order to be legally considered hemp, the hemp plant must contain less than 0.3% THC.  THC is the psychoactive chemical compound found in cannabis.  The 0.3% amount of THC is negligible and cannot produce a high.  In fact, CBD is known to counteract the psychoactive properties of THC.

Will I test positive for a drug test?

We cannot guarantee you will pass a drug text while taking any CBD products.  Our CBD products have less than .3% THC content in them which makes it very unlikely for it to result in a failed drug test, however, it can also depend on the kind of drug test that is administered, and some are more thorough than others.  If your job depends on passing a drug test, we recommend speaking with your HR department about these products before purchasing.
